Make your home easier to enter.

Explore a platform lift for a porch, deck or garage entry. Start with the route you use each day and the questions that need answering before equipment and installation scope are confirmed.

Follow the entry you use every day

Describe the trip you want to make, from the walkway or parking area to the door. Show the lower approach, upper landing, threshold and door opening. Discuss how you would reach the controls, move through the gate and continue into the home; selecting a lift does not by itself settle those daily-use questions.

Bring the level difference and mobility device

Provide an approximate height between the intended stops and identify your wheelchair or scooter. Include the device dimensions and any relevant user or equipment information requested during equipment selection. The selected model and configuration must be checked before fit or suitability is confirmed.

Discuss exposure and work still to be done

Identify whether the proposed location is indoors or outdoors and describe its exposure and any unfinished work nearby. Accurate site information matters. Changes in finished landing height, unfinished or uneven landing areas, or electrical work that is not ready can delay installation or affect whether the selected configuration still fits the project.

Agree who handles each part of the project

FRL supports equipment selection and quoting, manufacturer information and installation coordination. The builder or GC generally handles supporting construction work. The written project scope should identify who is responsible for supporting site work. FRL may perform limited woodwork required to secure the lift or upper gate where included in the actual scope. FRL does not pull permits. The builder, GC or client independently handles permits, engineering and approvals from the authority having jurisdiction, as applicable.

Start with photos, including a lift you already own

FRL commonly requests photos and site information early. Describe the entry, your city, intended daily use and target timing, and identify the homeowner or GC coordinating the work. For a customer-owned lift, share its brand, model, condition and the help needed. FRL accepts evaluation, troubleshooting, repair, relocation, installation and service work for customer-owned vertical platform lifts; the work and site fit still need confirmation.

Plan the whole project.
